Wellness Exams

Often times we only think of visiting the doctor when things get bad.  Routine wellness exams can help catch issues early before they become a big problem.

Vaccination and Deworming

Devastating diseases such as Rabies, Tetanus, West Nile Virus, Equine Encephalitis, Equine Herpes Virus, and Equine Influenza are still all too common among our equine friends.  If you are traveling to horse shows or competitions, or interact with other horses that do, your horse is even more at risk.  Parasitic diseases are also a common problem among equines.  We can help to ensure the health and well-being of your horse by developing strategic vaccination and deworming strategies and administering them correctly.

Health Certificates and Coggins Test

If you taking your horse across state lines, be sure to plan ahead an obtain a current Coggins test and health certificate.  Don't let a small technicality ruin your trip!

Lameness Evaluations

We know how frustrating it can be when your best horse comes up lame just when you need him most. We are here to help and can perform a thorough lameness examination and work with you in pursuing the best treatment option.

Dental Care

Routine sedated dental exams performed yearly with any needed corrective dentistry can help prevent severe dental disease and help your horse eat well and perform at its highest potential.  Options to correct severe dental issues can be quite limited in older horses, so it is very important to stay on top of this throughout your horse's life.

Surgery and Wound Care

Castrations or "brain surgery" as some call it can go a long way in helping to improve the temperament of some stallions.    Horses also have a knack for running through fences and get lacerations that need our attention.  We offer these and other surgical services that can be done in a field setting.

Colic Evaluation and Treatment

Horse colics can be a scary thing.  Thankfully, most of them can be treated effectively with medical management.  Referral to a equine hospital is available for more severe cases.

Euthanasia

There comes a time when it is necessary for each of our faithful friends to move on.  We realize that this can be a challenging time and do our best to make the whole experience as stress free and peaceful as possible.
